Godrej UEP, a joint venture between Godrej & Boyce and US-based Urban Electric Power, has been conceived to play a pivotal role in this transformative journey towards a cleaner and greener country and planet. At Godrej UEP, we manufacture leading-edge Zinc-based rechargeable batteries leveraging our extensive industry knowledge and engineering excellence to create value for customers. Unlike Lithium-ion batteries, Zinc-based batteries utilise non-toxic, earth-abundant materials from existing supply chains, making them a crucial component of resilient energy infrastructure and a greener alternative.

With a capacity to manufacture 1500 cells daily, we have invested in a 20,000 square feet facility that is a testament to innovation, efficiency and quality. Over 80% of the equipment used in the plant is developed and manufactured in India, demonstrating our commitment to making our nation more self-reliant.
