We are creating a more employable workforce

At Godrej & Boyce, we are committed to ensuring equal access to opportunity by creating a level-playing field through Disha, our skilling programme. Through Disha, we have empowered over 150,000 people and enhanced their earning potential in trades related to manufacturing, sales and services, building interiors, and construction sites.

We collaborate with state governments, NGOs and social enterprises to design and conduct skilling programs for welders, CNC operators, fitters, electricians, carpenters, masons, refrigeration and air-conditioning technicians, sales and service executives, and other technical skills to enable them to play a meaningful role in the economy.

Disha training programmes encompass comprehensive modules on theory, with interactive and participatory practical experience, soft skills training and critical insights on the relevant industry.

In collaboration with our training partners, we have set up Skilling Centres of Excellence, with the latest skilling tools, equipment and innovative teaching aids. We ensure the training content is constantly upgraded in line with industry requirements and current ways of thinking, where candidates gain authentic exposure to real-world issues. Inclusivity is integral to the Disha approach and we believe in the importance of ensuring that we give disproportionate focus to integrating marginalised communities. We believe in the importance of ensuring women and differently abled people play a meaningful role in the workforce. We do this by providing women with all the skills they would require, including roles previously considered male-dominated like machining and forklift driving. We provide specialized training for the differently abled as machine technicians, data entry operators and other technical skills.

We help students with placements in various organisations in India and overseas. We design our programmes for sustainability and scale, and continuously measure and re-validate objectives to ensure we get the right results.
